Welcome

Welcome to the Monsignor James Corbett Warren Memorial Council #5073 serving Burlington, Ontario.

Our council received its charter on December 12, 1960. Representing 5 of Burlington’s Catholic parishes (St. Patrick’s, Holy Rosary, St. Raphael's, St. John the Baptist, St. Paul the Apostle), we currently are over 160 members strong.

The order is founded upon the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism, and we still hold true to these today. The activities of Council #5073 are many and varied in the community at large, as well as within our membership. We raise over $20,000 per year for local charities through fundraising events such as bingos, turkey rolls, and our annual charity golf tournament.

General meetings are held at 8pm every 2nd Monday of the Month, and Executive meetings are held every 1st Monday of the month, both meetings are in the council hall at 2400 Industrial Street. Map

Knights of Columbus History

On Oct. 2, 1881, a group of men met in the basement of St. Mary’s Church on Hillhouse Avenue in New Haven, Conn. Called together by their 29-year-old parish priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, these men formed a fraternal society that would one day become the world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organization.

They sought strength in solidarity, and security through unity of purpose and devotion to a holy cause: they vowed to be defenders of their country, their families and their faith.

These men were bound together by the ideal of Christopher Columbus, the discoverer of the Americas, the one whose hand brought Christianity to the New World. Their efforts came to fruition with the incorporation of the Knights of Columbus on March 29, 1882.

They were Knights of Columbus.
